Environmental Issues

Environment & Corporate Responsibility
European WaterCare believes our corporate responsibility goes beyond our propriety borders and understands that responsible environmental activity effects both business and the community at large. Our aim is to limit environmental impact through both our manufacturing processes and our products themselves.
European WaterCare regenerates all expired resin from our Calcium Treatment Units through collection and after extensive cleaning and regeneration they are able to be used again – saving on landfill and keeps our on-costs to a minimum. Our products are manufactured in our production facility in the UK before being distributed. This is unlike our competitors, whose manufacturing facilities are based on the continent, with associated transportation and energy costs.
European WaterCare have elected to only use electricity generated from renewable sources between 1st June 2010 and 31st May 2011 and consequently are exempt from paying the Climate Charge levy for their electricity supply.
Energy Efficiency
Our Water Softeners prevent the build up of limescale helping to prolong the life of central heating systems, boilers, washing machines, dishwashers and emersion heaters. Scale forms on heat transfer surfaces and prevents efficient use of energy. Only 3mm of scale can cause a 25% increase in the amount of energy required to heat water.
Our Product Development Team are currently working on a number of initiatives to help reduce environmental impact.
ISO14001
Following an assessment by an independent body, European WaterCare has been awarded ISO 14001 certification. This certification has only been achieved by less than 1% of UK businesses and this prestigious award is supported by the Government and recognised world-wide.
ISO 14001 is an internationally-recognised certificate for evaluating how well an organisation manages its environmental responsibilities.
